Duration: 6 month contract

Interview Process: phone interview, then onsite

Important Skills

Technical: Developing the ETL process that will extract the data from the LIMS 1.0 instances; map, cleanse, and transform it; and then load it into the LIMS 2.0 database. Work closely with members of the core LIMS development team, the lab applications team, the business intelligence team, end users, and other stakeholders to plan, develop, execute, and validate the data migration. Success in the role means that all required data has been identified, mapped, cleansed, migrated, and validated. Data migration ,Data profiling, ETL, SSIS, Oracle, SQL Server, Jira.

BI Developer

As a core member of the data migration team, you will play a key role in ensuring that users continue to have access to their critical business during and after the launch of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) 2.0. You will work closely with members of the core LIMS development team, the lab applications team, the business intelligence team, end users, and other stakeholders to plan, develop, execute, and validate the data migration. Success in your role means that all required data has been identified, mapped, cleansed, migrated, and validated.

Your main focus will be developing the ETL process that will extract the data from the LIMS 1.0 instances; map, cleanse, and transform it; and then load it into the LIMS 2.0 database. You will work primarily with Oracle and SQL Server Integration Services; however, other tools may be brought into the mix as needed. You will also work with the platform and database engineering teams to stand up the infrastructure needed for data migration development and execution.

As a member of a small and agile team, you will be asked to assist in other areas as well including use case development and test case execution.

Skills and Experience

· Data migration

· Data profiling

· ETL – they happen to be using SSIS as ETL tool, but he isnt opposed to seeing people with Informatica

· SSIS – for data migration (could be Informatica, SSIS is preferred)

· Oracle – other Relational Database experience is fine, they are using Oracle

· SQL Server

· Jira

From documentation standpoint they will use Excel, tables

Important Characteristics: Self-starter, independent, work on individual assigned tasks and work to make the team successful, strong communication.

Responsibilities

· Assist with defining and documenting use cases

· Document mapping of fields and tables

· Create SSIS data flows to migrate data for source schema to target schema

· Design and implement a strategy for data migration monitoring

· Assist with creating and executing test cases

· Assist with executing and monitoring the data migration

· Work with platform and database engineering teams to stand up data migration infrastructure
