*Role: AZURE DATA ARCHITECT*

*Locations: **Alpharetta GA*

*Duration: **6+ Months extensions at a time*

*Responsibilities: *

• Design and develop a vision and implementation plan to link disparate  data sources and build Data Warehouse in Azure Cloud Platform

• Engage and manage data engineering processes involved to deliver Data Warehouse solution in the cloud

• Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing efficient Azure solution

• Performs analysis of various disparate data sources, in order to determine their interrelation and how best to integrate and leverage them for answering business questions

• Collaborate with team to develop data architecture artifacts and best practice documents

• Partner with users of downstream system to identify data needs and provide them with right solution for data consumption from cloud platform

*Qualifications:*

· Experience identifying the most cost and performance efficient storage and computing options in Azure Platform

· Previous experience engineering ELT-L process for large amounts of data to be loaded in Data Warehouse

· Experience using Polybase, AZCopy, CTAS, Azure Databricks & Azure  Data Factory for Data Load process. Ability to choose right tool for the problem at hand.

· Expert in developing Dimensional Models which can bring together data from various sources to answer business questions

· Clear understanding of limitations in building Data Warehouse in cloud and experience developing alternatives if needed

· Experience with table distribution tuning in Azure SQL Data Warehouse

· Experience using Data Management Views to understand and explain  workloads

· Understanding of Resource Class sizes to optimize Concurrency vs Query Performance issues

· Experience designing and developing SSAS Tabular model in Azure for reporting needs

· Expert knowledge in identifying right Indexing and Partitioning  solutions to get optimized computing and storage in Azure SQL Warehouse

· Experience maintaining Statistics manually for optimizing query plans

· Experience modeling data for a Document Database. Preferably with Cosmos DB

· Ability to handle consistency levels in Azure Cosmos DB and manage cost structure associated with GeoReplications
