*DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Develop Applications according to customer requirements, following BNSF development standards for applications within Technology Services at BNSF Railway.
• Assist in conceptualizing, designing, coding for Proof of Concepts and implement on a complex, high visibility, multi-year project.
• Coordinate with other technical teams to develop appropriate interfaces and ensure quality and efficiency through capacity planning, performance assessment, and both integration and regression testing.
• Understand and adhere to the Technology Services infrastructure and inter-relationships.
• Develop / maintain efficient solutions to resolve complex business needs.

*QUALIFICATIONS MUST HAVE:*

• 3 to 5 years of Experience developing with Groovy language, Grails and Spring framework.
• 7+ year Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Iterative Software development Life Cycle Processes such as Agile/Scrum Methodologies.
• 5+ years of web-based application development and support experience using the Java programming language including JSP, HTML, CSS and Java script.
• 3 to 5 years of Experience with SQL and JDBC preferably using DB2 UDB.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with Eclipse-based Java development.
• Experience creating and consuming Restful Web Services.
• Experience with Unix, preferably AIX, including shell scripting.
• Conceptual understanding of Server side programming, Distributed Application Environments and multi-threading models.
• Strong problem solving skills including the ability to analyze formatted and unformatted data including XML, CSV, and flat files.
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science related field.

*NICE TO HAVE*

• B2B messaging application knowledge.
• Experience with C++ and Perl languages.
• Knowledge of EDI/X12 messaging standards.
• Knowledge and experience with DB design and modeling.
• Experience with MQ.
• Experience with API.
• Experience with REST Services.
