*Job Summary:*

Provide operational direction to development teams developing custom applications and integration to third party applications to provide business value to our customers. This position collaborates with Solutions Architects to determine architectural enhancements as well as functional enhancement to the sales, pricing, fitness and member services applications. This position sets technology vision for a team of highly talented Programmers and Analysts. This position develops talents and trains teammates on new technology and application domain concepts. This position also works with cross-functional teams including DevOps and Application Operations to streamline the build and deploy pipeline.

  

*Responsibilities:*

· Collaborate with Solutions Architects to understand the architecture roadmap.

· Translate the architecture roadmap into the application architecture and goals for the application.

· Develop applications and frameworks for high availability and scalability to be used by both internal and external customers.

· Define and maintain an application roadmap for technological improvements.

· Document and communicate technical objectives, requirements, and designs.

· Design solutions, interfacing to or integrating with third party and custom systems.

· Design reusable components and services using defined standards and industry best practices and design patterns to access business data.

· Work closely with development teams to create design artifacts for features and functionality.

· Provide direction on service and application performance/profile testing.

· Provide development teams with reference implementations. Create prototypes, as required, to explain concepts to development teams.

· Cultivate working relationships at all levels of the organization including outside vendors.

· Work with Quality Assurance to determine quality and test metrics and plans.

· Work with DevOps to streamline the deployment pipeline.

· Evaluate new products and make recommendations to improve development.

o Work tracking software like Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, Crucible, Fisheye, Bamboo

o Build Scripting, Apache Ant, Apache Maven
 
· Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Enterprise Integration Design Patterns, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

· Proficiency with Test Driven Development and Scrum methodologies.

· Understanding of current Open Systems architecture, tools, trends and methodologies.

· Understanding how to code for performance including knowledge of multi-threading techniques.

· Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows).

· Knowledge of Enterprise IT standards and practices.

· Knowledge of Scrum framework and processes

*Experience*

10+ years of development experience with software development.

7+ years of experience in Java enterprise environment.

5+ years of experience as a tech/dev lead.
