Position: Systems Engineer

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: Long-Term

Interview Mode: F2F

The Systems Engineer Consultant will be responsible for assisting with the administration and support of the organization’s computer systems in a highly virtualized environment. Assisting with the build out of new Windows Servers ensuring consistent builds and configurations.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

·         Support vendor assisted hardware repairs and work with remote Data Center staff.

·         In depth knowledge of Veritas Enterprise Vault Suite (EV/CA/DA)

·         Monitor Systems task queues

·         Assist the helpdesk with Level 2/3 support to resolve end user issues that may occur

·         Assist with troubleshooting Outlook/Exchange issues that may occur.

·         Assist with deploying new infrastructure in our new Corporate Data Center

·         Assist with day-to-day Systems tasks: i.e. Backup Failure diagnosis and rectification, Security triage/request, DNS Administration, ESX VM Administration etc

Position Requirements:

·         7-10 year’s relevant experience

·         Expertise in managing and deploying both Windows Server (2012/2016)

·         Expertise with Veritas Enterprise Vault Technology

·         Experience with Exchange 2010/2016 hybrid environment

·         Experience with virtualization software and deployment best practices

·         Experience managing DNS/AD/DHCP/DFS

·         Hardware/Software support and deployment methods.

Current Projects / Immediate work will include:

·         Office 365 Migration

·         VDI Implementation (VMWare Horizon)

·         Corporate Datacentre Buildout

·         Corporate/desktop upgrade

·         Implement recommended AD changes based upon requests (i.e. New Group creation, New mailbox creation, assistance with migration to O365 EOP)

·         Corporate/desktop upgrade

·         Corporate DNS migration

Other requirements

·         Excellent communication skills are a must.

·         The individual must be able to handle a high pressure / fast paced environment.

·         Some after hour maintenance will be expected.
