Job Role: Healthcare Business analyst

Location: Columbia SC

 Duration:  12+ Months

Specific duties & responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain business rules along with associated artifacts such as requirements and models.
Experience with creating requirements and requirements traceability documents, and tracking requirements through end-user testing;
Work and contribute to waterfall and agile project management approaches;
Develop business rules and requirements via interviews, translation of governing documents and other means;
Conduct JAD Sessions with the Product Owners and business owners;
Translate business requirements into use cases and test scenarios;
Review and approval of SDLC deliverables and other related project artifacts;
Document and maintain related project sites including project server sites and Confluence repositories;
Serve as team expert on all components of IT Health:  claims processing, reference administration, provider enrollment and management, finance, security, and other related functions as assigned;
Assist other team members in performing business rules and requirements;
Present recommendations and decision points to program leadership;
Research and maintain business rules and requirements.

Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

8+ years’ experience in government IT projects as a business analyst or related duties;
6+ of translating business requirements into use cases and test scenarios;
6+ years’ experience eliciting, mining, and documenting business rules (RUP methodology);
Superb written and oral communications skills, including the ability to write requirements and Use Cases;
User acceptance testing
Excellent written and oral communication
Medicaid Management Information (MMIS) software/systems implementation experience


Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):

Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
System analysis
Experience with SDLC processes;
Healthcare Insurance IT software/systems implementations
