Data Modeler – HealthCare Domain(Mandatory)

Job Description:

The Data Modeler is responsible for developing or enhancing data models and generating DDL for the Data Warehouse and/or a wide range of operational application databases. The Data Modeler works closely with business analysts and technical resources to create flexible data models which accurately reflect the business and which support user needs. The Data Modeler participates in solution design and promotes consistent data management principles.

Overall responsibilities include: gathering business requirements, data discovery and reuse/integration analysis, creating or updating data models, generating DDL and creating required documentation to support, communicate, and validate the data model.

The Data Modeler will leverage the current software utilized by the Business Technology Services (BTS) division. All data models should conform to the strategic goals of the BTS division and should have appropriate supporting documentation (entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), metadata, etc.).

A solid understanding of the following is required:

· Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) / Agile methodologies

· Relational model design

· Dimensional modeling

· ETL processes

· Data warehousing and decision support tools and techniques

Requirements

· 7+ years of proven experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data transformation, metadata

· Extensive experience in data profiling

· Highly skilled in ERwin

· Knowledge of Teradata architecture

· 3+ years of experience with advanced SQL query techniques

· Ability to multi-task with several concurrent issues and projects

· Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

· Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

· Experience in the Healthcare industry preferred
