Job Description:  

The SESIS Operational Data Store (ODS) is a central clearing house for application data integration, providing disparate applications and platforms with the ability to share data across heterogeneous systems and data platforms. The technical design to provide this solution includes: integration between DOE database and vendor systems; data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture; analysis and development of interfaces to vendors; DOE data store development; report development and application development. To accomplish this solution a full spectrum of resources/skills sets is required. The data modeler is one of the crucial roles required for the success of SESIS project. The awarded Database Administrator and Data Modeler consultant will perform a wide range of functions including but not limited to data modeling, logical database design, physical database design and access optimization needed to ensure the successful re-design and continued smooth operation of the ODS database. These services are being contracted because DOE does not possess personnel with the skills needed for this position. 

Day to day tasks:

* Create conceptual, logical and physical data models for transactional systems in ERwin

 

* Lead business discovery sessions with the end users

 

* Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer teams.

 

* Establish & maintain data technical standards as described in data dictionaries and source to target mapping            documents.

 

* Database Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Trend Forecasting.

 

* Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and             customer needs.

 

* Meet Disaster Recovery requirements to ensure Business Resumption requirements.

 

* Provide high-level of customer satisfaction to internal and external customers, applying necessary sense of                urgency and creativity in problem identification and prompt incident resolution.

 

* Provide advanced database systems administration.

 

* Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed.

 

* Administer MS SQL server database. 

Mandatory Qualification:

Specialist - Experience in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications and products that run on those platforms, beyond that of a Programmer - The Authorized User may seek Specialists in the following areas (list is not exhaustive): * Backup and Recovery * Security. 

Requested Qualifications:
1. 84+ Months of Experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical & Physical)

2. 84+ Months of Experience in Database Management performing installation, configuration, customization,                  implementation and support of SQL Server Database.

3. 84+ Months of Experience in creating Data Dictionaries and Data Mappings documents.

4. 84+Months of experience and expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting ETL, DTS, SSIS and Data warehouse         queries.

5. 84+ Months of hands-on experience in SQL Server Performance Tuning, Query Optimization and Production              support.

6. 84+ Months of hands-on experience writing complex Stored Procedure, Functions in PL/T-SQL, Shell Scripts.

7. Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university
