Position : Senior DevOps Python Engineer

Location : St. Louis, MO

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering Team located in St. Louis, MO.
This assignment will involve working with our Information Security Office (ISO) to help integrate a
variety of security tools they use to monitor our systems and respond to incidents. 
Some of these systems are in AWS, while others are on premise.
You’ll be working closely with ISO resources to determine what they need and execute, while collaborating with the Cloud Engineering team to ensure they are following best practices for the components in AWS.

Most of the existing integration code is written in Python, so you should have experience with Python or a similar enough language to pick it up. 
The security tools you’ll be working with include IBM Resilient, Qualys, Forcepoint, Splunk, and Gurucul. 
You don’t necessarily need to have experience with these tools, but you’ll need to be able to dive into their documentation and quickly pick up what you need to know.

The kind of person we’re looking for will:

• Possess broad, up-to-date technical skills across the core domains of software and IT infrastructure
• Have proficiency with all aspects of the software development process (Agile planning, testing, development, performance optimization, refactoring, debugging, production support), and all components of software delivery (infrastructure, networking, operating systems, middleware, application runtimes, service integration, data and databases, production monitoring)
• Have a good general knowledge of security and the ability to dive into documentation for a tool and learn how to integrate it with other components.
• Be a self-directed learner who keeps your skills up to date with the latest technologies.
• Solve problems, even with complex and high-uncertainty challenges 
• Effectively communicate in a cross functional team and persuasively promote innovative new approaches that bring value to your customers


Required Education and Skills/Experience 
Must have one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) and at least 5 years of software development experience, OR
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and at least 9 years of software development experience

Demonstrated experience with the following:

AWS Cloud Operations - running real workloads in the cloud and diagnosing and fixing problems
Programming using Python or a similar language
Working in a continuous delivery environment
Creating RESTful microservices
A passion for building highly automated systems
A good understanding of security best practices.

Desired Education and Skills/Experience: 
Knowledge of/experience with the following:

AWS Cloud Formation (or Hashicorp Terraform)
AWS Lambda
Configuration management tools such as Ansible
Experience provisioning and maintaining highly-available, fault-tolerant IT infrastructure including servers, storage, and data stores
