Some of the key details of this opportunity are as follows:
Position Summary / Responsibilities:
In this role you will provide technical DB2 leadership and assist in developing/maintaining an architectural design, planning and support for the Tier I Mainframe DB2 infrastructure.
You will coordinate technical activities related to problem management, system maintenance and provide a framework for project communication, reporting and troubleshooting failures.
Knowledge and experience of all aspects of DB2 Version 11 in a z/OS mainframe environment
·Detailed specialized experience to include application knowledge and experience in such areas as DB2 Version 11, z/OS Operating System, Disaster Recovery, IBM PTF maintenance, DB2 upgrade protocols, and practical
experience in a DB2 DataSharing environment.
· Provide patch, PTF maintenance, and upgrade support
· Analyze outage reports for future avoidance
· Provide input to software installation planning
· Recommend software maintenance strategies
· Conduct incident post mortem meetings
· Identify issues, problem areas that need focus/escalation
· Identify single points of database failure
· Maintain communications through DMSSD management
· Recommend enhancements to problem/change management procedures
· Open IBM SRs as required
· Resolve and trouble shoot P1\P2 tickets as required
· Provide Operations support
· Follow-up and escalate issues identified in problem and change management meetings
· Assist in preparing systems outage or availability reports
· Provide educational assistance on the usage of various DB2 Tools
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10 years of overall experience
· Public Trust Clearance
· Onsite support at one of the following locations: Lanham., MD; Kearneysville, WV or Detroit, MI
· Knowledge and experience of all aspects of DB2 Version 11 in a z/OS mainframe environment
