Data Architect/Data Modeler

specializes in understanding and anticipating the intricacies of a data warehouse project through proper data profiling, complex data modeling, integration and physical implementation in a Teradata/Oracle environment. During

 

development, this individual reviews specification changes and helps to identify their impact on the development team. Provide guidance during project team reviews at enterprise architectural board meeting to the right source of

 

data to accomplish business goals. This individual will also have a deep understanding of large scale data warehouse solutions in varying design patterns and how to translate it to simple business use case and value.

 

This is an Advisor level position and works with peers, directors, business leaders and all aspects of

 

information technology (IT) to ensure there is a Retail data warehouse strategy and roadmap to accomplish the goals of the business. This role requires advanced data modeling experience, tactical task planning, and deep technical

 

subject matter expertise. This individual should have the ability to deliver a world class, stable data warehouse design that meets the short and long-term demands of the business.

 

The right candidate for this role will have:  

Experience with performance & tuning techniques and their relationship to optimized data models,

 

playing a project team mentoring role in enterprise-wide data quality, business data stewardship, and data modeling project assignments, and in data modeling and design patterns, data flow diagramming, data warehousing, business

 

intelligence and the complexity in aligning a metadata management program.

 

Working knowledge of and how to apply within a data warehouse framework; an application and analytical

 

reporting environment, aligned tools and techniques, and a service oriented data delivery for near real-time reporting including advanced skills in software development methodologies and possesses the ability to disseminate them to a team.

 

Experience in the design and implementation of high volume, high available processing solutions as well as knowledge of n-tier architectures and complex data integration patterns.

 

Strong presentation and collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation while demonstrating a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues in order to deliver quality projects on time and within budget by using strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

 

Required Qualifications  

Minimum of 5 years data warehousing

 

Minimum of 5 years with Oracle or Teradata

 

Minimum of 3 years of data modeling using ERWin, normalized, dimensional & semantic design expertise, DDL generation

 

Minimum of 3 years experience with n-tier platforms, data integration patterns and application data models using ERWin.

 

Preferred Qualifications  
A general understanding of data movement hubs utilizing XML/XDS as one of the many protocols.
 
Working knowledge of industry data warehouse tools including Informatica, Teradata, MicroStrategy, Oracle OBIEE
