Job Title: Manual QA

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Rate: $40/Hr on C2C/1099

SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Engineer will execute evaluations, audits, testing, quality documentation, and reports that support database and product development. They will ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are being met by verifying product functionality and performance against product requirements and specifications. They will work under general supervision. They will rely on experience and judgment to lan and accomplish goals. Some degree of independence, creativity and latitude is required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Execute and track testing performed on assigned products, including new products and modifications to existing systems.

Create detailed test plans, customer acceptance test plans, traceability matrices and summary reports.

Create and execute thorough test scripts both automated and manual.

Develop and verify associated testing documentation including functional test scenarios, test results and regression test scenarios.

Perform evaluations and audits of software documentation and software processes associated with products under test.

Develop, establish, and maintain structured testing methodology and environments.

Respond to inquiries from internal users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs.

Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens and content.

Mentor other staff as required

Act as mentor to junior QA team members

Act as Lead on small projects or internal QA department initiatives.

Conduct learning sessions as needed for the QA department and other departments.

Support Off shore QA. Questions and Knowledge Sharing Opportunities.

Liaison with development, project management and customer support.

Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverable is essential.

Conduct consulting sessions with clients on configuration or product questions as needed.

Support Off shore QA. Questions and Knowledge Sharing Opportunities.

Develop processes to support new QA department functions and tool implementations.

When needed, represent QA Management in meetings.

Lead or direct scrum teams as needed.

Liaison with development, project management and customer support.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1-5 years’ experience in manual test case creation and Manual Test execution.

Knowledge of SQL. XML, EDI and Internet.

Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverable is essential.

Knowledge of Windows PC environment, including MS Office Professional applications (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).

Healthcare claims and TFS experience are a plus. They are a .Net environment.

Basic competence in the following:

Quality Assurance Testing Knowledge: Techniques used to test software applications, including test suites and scripts, anomaly reporting, software analysis, and automated software test packages; “black box” and “white box” testing techniques; and software development processes.

Database Knowledge: Database structures and sequel query language, including data table information and report analysis for Oracle and SQL Server environments.

Managed Care Terminology:

Internet Browser Knowledge: including URLs; cached files; downloading programs and setting browser options for various browsers.

HIPAA regulations and system security relating to access to and distribution of confidential information.

Software defect tracking tools.

Enterprise testing tools, such as MS Test Manger, HP Quality Center.

Creative problem solving.

Abstract thinking.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst), CSTE (Certified Software Tester), CSTP (Certified Software Test Professional) and/or CTM (Certified Test Manager)
