Familiarity reading and writing to NoSQL databases
Be able to assist with data modeling to suit data integration stream of work and also in area of Azure Analysis Services cubes
Azure Performance tuning
Azure databases deployment methods
Database CI/CD
PowerShell scripting for DB activities within Azure
Azure AD and how to apply that to the DW
Data Migration experience from on-premise and Cloud
Specific to Azure SQL DW:
Data distribution methods
Indexing Methods (Column Store, Heap etc.)
Data Loading Options
Concept of Polybase to load data and export data , right use cases to apply this
Best Practices pertaining to cost reduction mechanisms, scaling, maintaining statistics etc.
Recommendation on what method to use for delta processing within a Azure SQL DW
Key requirements:
Good Data modeling skills (Dimensional Model)
Experience in handling Large Volume of Data Load (Data load configuration)
Ability to have used key database features for data warehousing.
Proficient in Datawarehouse support
Must be proficient on Azure SQL Datawarehouse and capability to make advantage of the features offered by Azure SQL DW.
Azure Data Factory Setup would be a nice to have but an inclination to learn and work on it is sufficient.
