Responsibilities:

•Developing UI, management layer and services, API's
 
.Collaborate with other engineers to develop, detailed software design and documentation
 
•Provide accurate engineering estimates
 
•Participate in specification, design, implementation, evangelism and support of the product, as well as improve existing features and product performance
 
•Work on a small team (4-10) engineers on a daily basis, using Agile engineering practices and continuous integration
 
•Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
 
•Design robust, scalable and secure features
 
•Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
 
•Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, code standards)
 
•Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design

Required Skills:

Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree, or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in developing applications
 
•Mastery in either Node.js, Platform as a service or Software as service
 
•Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS & JQuery and experience with building APIs essential
 
•Experience building RESTful API in Rails or Node.js a definite plus
 
•Working knowledge of virtualization technologies including hypervisors, and virtual machines
 
•A firm grasp of object oriented analysis and design
 
•Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
 
•Good knowledge of relational databases

Highly desirable skills and experience

Ruby and RSpec experience a plus
 
•Experience with SQLServer a plus
 
•Development on Windows platforms a plus
 
•Deep knowledge of JavaScript a plus (especially node/functional design patterns)
 
•Experience with VMware APIs a plus (especially vSphere experience developing highly interactive applications)
 
• Jenkins, Continuous integrations Other

 
•Team player, with the willingness to work with distributed teams (VMware has teams all over the globe)
 
•Outstanding attitude and energy
 
•Excellent communication skills
